Accommodations
A Place to Rejuvenate
Originally built in 1900, our historic Retreat Barn has been lovingly converted into a cozy, rustic, eco-conscious haven that sleeps up to 22 people. In addition to the many amenities on the Retreat Barn‘s main level, here are also three shared bathrooms throughout, with two on the main level near the kitchen, dining and lounge areas, and one in the lower level of the barn. All accommodations in the Retreat Barn are available year-round.Â
Main Level Bunks
- 12
The main floor of the Retreat Barn features 3 cozy bunk rooms, each with two sets of bunks to sleep up to 4 per room. The hand-built bunks are larger than a typical twin bed (with some as large as a full), with thick memory foam mattresses for a comfortable night’s sleep. All Retreat Barn amenities are easily accessible, including two shared bathrooms, the coffee & tea bar, yoga floor and lounge/dining/kitchen areas. The Back Porch offers tranquil space to sit with a morning cup of coffee or tea and look out on the pasture as the steam rises off the ponds.
The Sunrise Suite

Cabins and Cottages
Channel your inner Thoreau in one of our charming cabins and cottages — including a cozy tiny house, a yurt, and even a “Hobbit House” made out of cob! These are available seasonally from June to the end of September; they are closed for the colder months from October-May. While they have more limited amenities than the Retreat Barn, many of these hand-built, camp style cottages offer kitchenettes, cold running water and electricity, woodstoves for heat, and composting toilets. (Please refer to each listing for the specific amenities available in each one.)
The Pond House
- 2
A fully independent cabin (and the largest one on site), the Pond House offers a great sanctuary in the form of a rustic cottage overlooking the lower gardens and ponds. This two-story cabin features a vintage-style wood-burning cook stove, kitchenette, refrigerator, and lounge area, while the upstairs boasts a private writing desk and a large queen-size bed. Great for self-contained stays looking for some additional privacy and comfort.
The Apple House
- 2
This adorable, bucolic cottage is nestled between the sheep pasture and the upper ponds. Sit on the porch and watch the apple trees sway. Inside, a Vermont Castings wood stove offers the coziest hearth in cooler months. A functional kitchenette is included, and the loft holds a full-size bed that can sleep 2.
The Robin’s Nest
- 2
An idyllic little cabin nestled snugly into the woods on the lower field, this space will bring out your inner Thoreau for sure. Equipped with a small wood stove and miniature kitchenette, as well as a writing desk, bunks for 2, and a tranquil porch for rocking on as you look out over the pond, this rustic cabin offers the perfect spot for reconnecting with Nature’s slow rhythms and calming energies.
The Pumpkin House
- 1
A quaint little tiny house, this cabin sits close to the pasture near the Retreat Barn. Includes a small kitchenette and a cozy loft with a twin-sized mattress. Its front porch provides a great place to sit and look out at the nearby ponds and flowers.
The Orchard House
- 2
This cabin sleeps 2 in lofted twin beds in two adjacent rooms. Sit at your writing desk and look out the window as you journal, or plop down in the rocking chair on the side porch and gaze out on the pasture animals under the apple trees. Comes equipped with a wood stove for cooler autumn nights.
The Hobbit House
- 2
Our most whimsical and enchanted lodging, this Shire-like cob house is a magical place to stay. Simple but sweet, it features two twin beds and a small wood stove for chilly autumn evenings. Sit and enjoy the alpacas grazing by the upper pond outside your circular window, or cozy up for the night with a cup of tea and a good book. Truly an experience like no other! (Please note the Hobbit House does not have electricity.)
The Yurt

A beautiful and spacious lodging tucked away by the woods, the Yurt comes well-furnished and accommodated with kitchenette and a central wood stove. The futon can sleep up to 2 people under the oculus, letting the stars shine in. Perfect for a bit of additional privacy and space.
The Mouse House

Our tiniest cabin is tucked back into the woods, surrounded by beautiful trees, Jerusalem artichokes and wild leeks. It features two comfy twin beds. (Please note the Mouse House does not have electricity.)
